Banda Aceh/Liputaninvestigasi.com-A new cohort of young professionals in Indonesia’s westernmost province is being prepared to compete in an increasingly borderless labor market through the launch of the 2DIGIT Academy Global Talent Training Batch #2, a fully funded scholarship program aimed at developing globally competitive skills.
The program, organized by MIT Foundation, officially commenced on Saturday at the Badan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia (BPSDM) Aceh, bringing together selected participants seeking to strengthen their readiness for international career opportunities.
Held every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. local time, the training is offered free of charge through full scholarships awarded to ten participants who successfully passed the selection process.
According to program manager Muttaqin, the initiative was developed over the past year and entered implementation in May 2026. The second batch, launched in June, focuses on equipping young people with the skills required to navigate the rapidly evolving demands of the global economy.
“This is not a program designed to send workers abroad,” Muttaqin said. “Our primary objective is to build global competencies so participants can compete in international labor markets, including the growing opportunities available through remote work.” Senin (8/6/2026)
The opening session was led by 2DIGIT Academy founder Teuku Farhan, who delivered his remarks entirely in English—an intentional approach aimed at encouraging participants to develop confidence in global communication.
“Many people never have the opportunity to study overseas,” Farhan told participants. “Yet they are respected when they have the courage to speak English, regardless of whether they are fluent or still learning. The key is to practice whenever possible and gradually build confidence.”
The inaugural class focused on “Understanding the Global Job Market and Career Strategies,” exploring how digital transformation and technological innovation are reshaping employment opportunities worldwide.
Participants learned about the growing influence of the digital economy, the expansion of remote work arrangements, and the increasing demand for highly skilled professionals across international markets. The session also highlighted emerging sectors expected to drive future job creation, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics.
In addition to analyzing labor market trends, attendees were introduced to practical career development strategies, including conducting personal skill audits, obtaining industry-recognized certifications, building professional portfolios, optimizing LinkedIn profiles, and expanding professional networks.
For many participants, the program offered a new perspective on career preparation in a globalized workforce.
“We are very grateful for the insights shared during this session,” said participant Hadi Irfandi. “The training helped us better understand the realities of the global job market and the competencies we need to develop in order to remain competitive in the future.”
Through the 2DIGIT Academy initiative, MIT Foundation hopes to empower more young people in Aceh with the skills, confidence, and international outlook needed to pursue global opportunities while continuing to contribute to their local communities.
